Le Gorille Blanc

4 Impasse Guéménée, 75004 Paris, France Metro: Bastille / Saint-Paul The restaurant is closed since August 2017

A few steps from the Church of Saint Paul Saint Louis, nestled in the heart of the Impasse Guéménée, is a traditional Parisian gourmet bistro with a Southwest twist. Rabbit with raisins, chipirons (small squid) sauteed with parsley, sepia ink risotto, and black pudding made in the Pyrenees style (from 17 to 19 euros) awaken your taste buds. Everything is just simply good, no frills, to be enjoyed with gusto. The prices are very affordable, and include a fixed-price menu of 2 courses at 16 euros, plus a different special is available each day. Unbeatable! Both “surf” and “turf” cuisine are available here, however of note are the roasted sea bream accompanied by tender carrots, and the cod fillet in mustard sauce (20 euros). Last but not least, do not miss the croustade ariégeoise aux pommes et pruneaux (apple and prune crumble) at 8 euros, a delicious homemade dessert flavored with Armagnac.
