Opposite the magnificent Hôtel Duo, right on the corner of the rue du Temple is the Brasserie Le Drapeau. Neo-modernist, art deco, fifties style décor with a warm ambiance to match. The reasonably-priced specials are between 12 Euros and 22 Euros, they serve home-made food, the service is quick and efficient, and intriguingly creative dishes such as the sea bream tartare with coriander and garden veg, pan friend giant prawns, lamb shank, classic beef tartare with home made fries, breast of duck, grace the menu, with new dishes every day. Not forgetting standard classics such as the house burger of course, including a vegan version if desired. Gourmet desserts such as crêpes Suzette or the more classic chocolate lava cakes, and even a gourmet cappuccino, served with tiramisu, pannacotta and chocolate mousse. Hot chocolate, soft drinks and cocktails are served on the terrace in summer, but do remember to try the amazing fresh and fruity brewed in-house IPA beer. Service at Le Drapeau is efficient and comes with a smile; what more could anyone wish for? Non-stop service every day.
