2 / Classic frencH cuisine at Le Bouledogue

Situated in the freshly renovated rue Rambuteau with its newly planted trees and smartly tiled terraces is Le Bouledogue, favourite restaurant of Bertrand Delanoé, former Mayor of Paris. The restaurant takes its quirky name from the breed of the pet dog Elliot, who belonged to the previous owners. Laurent Hertout, formerly chef of the famous Bistrot Richelieu in the first district and his friend Rudy have taken over this well-loved place and welcome you to their mahogany-walled establishment where art and culture are the order of the day. Simple and traditional meals that have made the fame of the great Parisian brasseries adorn the à la carte menu. The menu changes daily, or according to the mood of the chef and what is seasonally available on the markets, which creates a fabulous choice especially for regular diners. Everything is made in-house, and rapidly served so no excessive waiting times. All tastes are catered for, from the traditional, old-fashioned French egg mayonnaise or marrowbone to farm-raised chicken or steak tartare, and profiteroles or ice cream to die for. The courtesy and kindness of the team, and the veryfairly-priced menu - dishes of the day from 17 Euros, and evening, à la carte; around 40-50 Euros - will charm you into returning time and time again. Happiness comes from tradition so be sure to come back and check, just for good measure.

4/ Leclaireur : The unique Trend Setter

Since 1980, when our first space opened in an art gallery on the Champs-Elysées, LECLAIREUR has been presenting designers with strong, unusual and rich approaches to their work. LECLAIREUR was quickly established as a visionary force in the world of fashion, lifestyle and design.

Our space on rue de Sévigné in the heart of the Marais is a work of art in and of itself, designed in collaboration with Belgian artist Arne Quinze. A vestibule that brings sensorial awareness away from the street and towards the olfactory,  with an exceptional array of niche perfumes lining the walls. Moving into the main space, the visitor enters a unique environment, composed of two tons of wooden planks and 147 video screens. Menswear and womenswear collections are hidden and revealed behind moving walls, constantly blurring the lines between illusion and reality.

The designers featured here, including Yohji Yamamoto, 08 Sircus, Haider Ackermann, and Boris Bidjan Saberi, are amongst the most exciting in fashion today, living in total affinity with the atmosphere — all with the goal of surprising, delighting and seducing. A remarkably interactive environment, Sévigné brings together art, technology, design and the legendary style unique to LECLAIREUR.

7/ Fine Gastronomy at L’ Ambassade d’Auvergne

Opened in 1966 by the Petrucci family in the heart of Le Marais, L’Ambassade d’Auvergne offers warm and hearty traditional meals in an authentic and welcoming setting. Regional specialities, extensive wine list, fresh seasonal market produce…. This venerable Parisian institution is a great place to get together for special occasions around the best table in the house or in one of the private dining rooms on the first floor. A new era has begun; and the oldest traditions are observed and even celebrated. Their new menu, compiled by new chef E. De Backer reflects regional gastronomy, which evolves along with the seasons and the markets, and offers alongside the most inevitable dishes and flavours from the Auverge. Regional speciality beef, Aligot (gourmet garlic mashed potato), cold deli meats and cheeses along with deliciously indulgent ideas for dessert.
The area around the Ambassade has been wonderfully renovated yet the spirit of the place has remained authentic, generous and like its warm welcome, has always been the trademark of this majestic venue. In January 2015 Didier Désert took control of the venture and to ensure the ongoing promotion of the Auvergne region within Paris, respects the traditions of the house, the quality of the produce, the warmth of the old Le Marais atmosphere and its epicurean spirit.
Lunch menu: Flavours of Auvergne from €22.50 to €33. So much pleasure for such a reasonable price and value for money, but that is the skill of the house and for which they have always been well known.
