Bonjour from Le Marais

Holder of a doctorate from the Sorbonne, photographic art historian Marianne Ström has lived in the Marais since the mid-1970s. This perfectly-suited district soon became her home and she has photographed it from every conceivable angle. This labour of love gave rise to several exhibitions (one - amongst others – at the Historical Library of Paris) and to the publication of several books, notably "Le Marais" whose detail focuses on the monuments of the City (2002), and "Paris en Details – Le Marais" (2011).

Marianne Ström also undertook a research project in 40 "metro-cities" in the world and launched an exhibition called Metro-Art in the Metropolises that was shown in over 20 cities all over the world, and of course at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Her exhibition about Sacred Sites, Architecture and Popular Expressions was shown to the UNESCO, at the Albert Kahn Museum in Paris, at the City Hall in Oslo and also at the City Hall in Stockholm.

Marianne invited us to discover the amazing Hotel de Lauzun, one of the most magnificent Hotel Particuliers in Le Marais, where she has a fantastic exhibition dedicated to the Bridges of Paris. She also shared with us the news the publication of her new Book "Les ponts de Paris". The exhibition runs until mid September in this fabulous location that is seldom open to the public.
