The rue de Rivoli and the Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville in 1900. The construction of the rue de Rivoli started in 1811. The first part of the street was finished in 1835 only. The rest was finished in 1856. It was named after the battle Napoleon Bonaparte won over the Austrians in Rivoli in 1797. On the left the old Bazar Napoleon, which later became the BHV, as we know it today.
